Yes! You are more than welcome to submit payment of the course fee for one or more DEDP courses now and complete the course and Proctored Exam in a future semester. The DEDP program allows and encourages learners to take the online courses as many times as they wish.
Once you submit payment for a DEDP course you may take the course as many times as you wish, during any future semester in which the course is available without paying again. You will only be required to submit payment for the course again if you require additional attempts at the Proctored Exam.
If you haven't previously enrolled in a course, you will need to enroll in it in order to submit payment, but this will not affect your ability to take that course again in the future any way. If you wish, you may unenroll from the course after submitting payment—although you are not required to do so, and are free to remain enrolled and get a head-start on learning the content, even if you do not plan to submit assignments. Your MicroMasters Dashboard will save only the highest score you earn in each DEDP course, so you need not worry about not focusing on the course during this semester.
When you submit payment for a DEDP course, you receive one attempt at the Proctored Exam for that course. Your Proctored Exam attempt will remain valid until you become eligible to sit for the course's Proctored Exam—but you are not obligated to sit for the Proctored Exam as soon as you are eligible to do so. You are welcome to wait and take the Proctored Exam in a future semester, when you are ready to do so.
