Learners who earn less than $10,000 USD per year can be entered in a lottery to be awarded one coupon for the $100 course price each DEDP semester.
You must complete all of the following steps for every semester in which you would like to be entered in the lottery.
To enter the lottery:
When coupon lottery submissions for the upcoming DEDP semester open, which occurs after the payment deadline of the previous semester—send an email to email@example.com and ask Support to "reset your personalized course price". A member of the MITx MicroMasters Support Team will respond to let you know your price has been reset.
Go to your MicroMasters dashboard and enter your income information again. The system will ask you to provide documents to verify your current income and will provide a link to DocuSign, a free and secure site that you will use to submit your documentation.
Upload documents via DocuSign that verify your income.

If your financial situation has not changed, you can use the documents you provided in the previous semester again. We ask that you obtain new documents, such as a tax return, once per year. Please see the Upcoming Dates page for the nearest submission closing date. Also, please be sure to convert deadlines to your local timezone. In order to have your documents processed in time, we strongly encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible.
All learners whose documents are approved and verify an income below $10000 USD will be entered into the lottery for the DEDP semester. As long as you have completed the process above before the submission deadline, you will be entered into the lottery. After the DEDP staff has reviewed your documentation and found it acceptable, your DEDP Dashboard will show a personalized price of $250 USD. This is not an error and does not indicate an issue with your entry. This is a requirement of our system.
After the lottery drawing:
Learners who are chosen to be awarded the $100 USD course coupon will be notified via email after the submission deadline—one week before the payment deadline for that semester. The coupons expire at the Payment Deadline for the DEDP semester in which they are issued—which typically occurs around 1 week after coupons are awarded—so if you are awarded a $100 course price coupon, you must use the coupon immediately, to change your Personal Price for the chosen course.
We cannot—in any circumstance—replace coupons which have expired without having been used.
