Yes, learners are welcome to take as many DEDP courses as they wish to! However, it is important to note that a maximum of one Introductory elective course may contribute to your DEDP MicroMasters Program Credential.
If you earn the MicroMasters Course Certificate for either one of 14.73x Challenges of Global Poverty or 14.009x Good Economics for Hard Times, the Introductory Elective courses, then you cannot also gain credit towards the DEDP Program Credential by earning the Course Certificate for the other course.
If you wish to take an additional DEDP elective course and you do not require a Course Certificate for that course, you are welcome to complete the course on the Audit track, and not submit payment. If you do wish to receive a Course Certificate, then you are also welcome to submit payment for the course and sit for its Proctored Exam. If you earn a passing score for both the online course and its Proctored Exam, you will receive a digital MicroMasters Course Certificate for the course, even if it does not contribute to your DEDP MicroMasters Program Credential.
If you complete all four DEDP elective courses, your highest scoring Advanced elective and your next-highest scoring elective course (either Advanced or Introductory) will be used to calculate your DEDP MicroMasters Program Overall Grade, and for any application to the DEDP Master’s program.
