To upgrade to the Verified enrollment track for an SCM course, you must submit payment for the course before the Verification (Payment) Deadline for that course session. If you purchase SCM courses individually, this means that you will submit payment after enrolling in each course. See this edX article for more information. If you purchase the SCM Program Bundle, then you will automatically be upgraded to the Verified (Paid) track once you Join a session of the course from your edX Dashboard. See this edX article for more information.
For SC0x, the Verification (Payment) Deadline is 21 days before the scheduled release of the Final Exam, near the end of the course session. All course content except for the Final Exam is available to both Verified (Paid) and Audit (Free) learners. This means that there is comparably much more time to decide whether you want to upgrade your SC0x course session to sit for the Final Exam and earn the Course Certificate.
Please note that, because course payments are tied to the session for which they were submitted, if you submit payment early in an SC0x course session but later determine that you need more than one session of the course to prepare for the Final Exam, you may not be able to get a refund of your course payment. You would either need to sit for the Final Exam at the end of that session anyway, or submit payment for the course again in a future session, in order to sit for that session’s Final Exam.
For SC1x, SC2x, SC3x, and SC4x, the Verification (Payment) Deadline is the end of the third week of the course session. Not all of the course content is available to Audit (Free) learners. This means that there is comparably much less time to decide whether you want to upgrade your SCx course session to earn the Course Certificate.
Because access to the Comprehensive Final Exam course is restricted to eligible learners, who have successfully completed all of the content courses, enrollment in this course is not open. Instead, the SCM team will manually enroll all eligible learners in each session of the CFx course around 4-6 weeks before the scheduled examination. Once you are enrolled in a session of the CFx you will need to upgrade to the Verified (Paid) enrollment track, by submitting payment if purchasing courses individually, and by joining the course session if you purchased the Program Bundle.
In addition to upgrading to the Verified (Paid) enrollment track, you must also complete an ID Verification as part of the Onboarding process. The edX Platform will ask you to verify your identity using a government-issued ID. This identity verification lasts for up to one year across your courses on the edX Platform and is separate from the payment process.
