Learners who complete the MITx MicroMasters program in Finance (MMFin) and earn the MicroMasters Program Credential are invited to apply for admission to the MIT Sloan Master of Finance (MFin) program to continue their education in finance.
Admission to the MIT Sloan Master of Finance program is a separate process from completing the MicroMasters program. While the MicroMasters program can enhance your knowledge and credentials, admission to the MFin program is still subject to meeting the specific requirements and standards of the program. Admission to the Master of Finance program is not guaranteed for MMFin credential holders.
However, by successfully completing the MicroMasters program and meeting the admissions criteria for the Master of Finance program, applicants will have demonstrated their proficiency in finance, allowing them to accelerate their progress in the MFin program and start their studies at an advanced level.
MMFin credential-holders admitted to the Master of Finance program may expect to be awarded academic credit for the coursework completed as part of the MicroMasters program toward the MFin degree requirements. This credit means that MMFin learners may waive the first semester of the Master of Finance program—the Summer term—and begin their studies in the Fall term.
If you are interested in pursuing the MIT Sloan Master of Finance degree program and have completed the MicroMasters program, we recommend that you consult the official admissions guidelines and requirements of the MFin program to understand the applications process and eligibility criteria.
