The Masters of Engineering in Advanced Manufacturing and Design blended program is an option being developed by MIT that allows learners to combine the MITx MicroMasters program credential with one semester and a summer project at MIT in Cambridge, MA, USA. This program is designed for learners who have successfully completed the MITx MicroMasters program credential in Principles of Manufacturing (PoM).
To be eligible for the blended program, learners need to earn the MITx MicroMasters program credential in Principles of Manufacturing, which requires passing eight rigorous online courses, including four virtually-proctored exams. Once learners have obtained the MicroMasters program credential, they have the opportunity to apply for the Masters of Engineering in Advanced Manufacturing and Design blended program.
If admitted to the blended program, learners would come to MIT and spend from January through August on campus, taking courses and engaging in a summer project. The program would culminate in graduation in September of the following year, with a graduation ceremony held in June of the year after that.
The blended program provides learners with the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge and skills in advanced manufacturing and design by combining the online coursework of the MicroMasters program with an immersive on-campus experience at MIT. It offers a unique pathway to earning the Master of Engineering degree while leveraging the flexibility and accessibility of online learning.
