Audit Access to Self-Paced courses on the edX.org platform expires after the estimated course duration, which for MMFin courses is 12 weeks. This means that a learner enrolling in a Self-Paced MMFin course on the Audit (free) track will gain access to the Course Content for only 12 weeks—starting either upon enrollment or as soon as the course session starts—whichever occurs later. For more information, please see this FAQ article
Because the Financial Assistance Cycle is three months long, these 12 weeks of access to the Courseware on the Audit track provide learners with access to at least one, if not two, opportunities to submit a Financial Assistance Application. Learners who wait to start the course after learning, or who forget to submit an application during an Application Period, however, can still end up in a situation where they are eligible to apply for Financial Assistance, but no longer have access to the Course Content. Learners in this situation should reach out to the MMFin Customer Support Team for further assistance.
Important Note: If you fail to complete the Coursework Eligibility Requirement before your Audit Access Expires, or if you fail to earn a high enough score on each piece of Coursework, then you will become ineligible to apply for Financial Assistance in that course session. You will only be able to become eligible for that course again when the next session of the course starts. You may need to wait a very long time (up to a year or more) for the next course session to become available.
