Several policy changes for the MITx MicroMasters program in Data, Economics, and Design of Policy went into effect on March 13, 2021, 5:00 UTC. These changes affected all future DEDP learners and some existing DEDP learners. Please find below a summary of the major changes, which were announced to all existing DEDP learners in January 2021 via multiple emails, the DEDP website, and the Open Community Discussion Forum.
- The DEDP Personal Price structure changed. Learners who had previously received a personal price of $100 or $250 USD will see that their price has automatically changed to fit the new scheme. For more information, please refer to the FAQ article How much do the DEDP courses cost?
- The DEDP program will now be awarding a $100 course price coupon to a limited number of learners each semester via a lottery system. For more information, please refer to the FAQ section About the $100 Course Price Coupon Lottery
- DEDP course payments now include only one proctored exam attempt. This change affects both future and existing DEDP learners—please visit this FAQ article in order to determine how you may be affected.
- The schedule of availability for DEDP courses and DEDP Proctored Exams changed. Starting in Summer Semester 2021, each DEDP course is now offered between one and three times per year. The Proctored Exam for each course will only be available at the end of semesters during which that course was offered. For more information and the new course availability schedule, please refer to the FAQ article How often will the DEDP courses run? Where can I find a schedule for all upcoming course runs?
