On the edX.org platform, Audit Access to Self-Paced courses expires after the estimated course duration—i.e., 12 weeks, for MMFin courses. For more information, please see this edX.org FAQ article. Access expiration does not apply to learners enrolled on the Verified/Certificate (Paid) track.
When you enroll in a Self-Paced course session on the Audit (free) track, you gain access to the Course Content for a set amount of time, equal to the estimated course duration. Audit Access starts either as soon as you enroll in the course session or as soon as the course session Starts—whichever is later.
- If you enroll in a course session before it starts, your Audit Access time will start counting once the course session starts
- If you enroll in a course session after it starts, your Audit Access time will start counting immediately after you enroll
The estimated course duration for MMFin Content Courses is 12 weeks, so if you enroll on the Audit (free) track, you will have access to the Course Content for 12 weeks before you must decide whether to submit payment to upgrade your enrollment to the Verified/Certificate (Paid) track.
You can decide to upgrade your course enrollment either before or after your Audit Access expires. And if you do decide to upgrade, all of the course progress you made while on the Audit track will be restored—including all of the Coursework and assignments you completed.
Critical Information: If you plan to apply for Financial Assistance to help pay for an MMFin course, you must complete several tasks before your Audit Access expires. Otherwise, you will not be eligible to apply. For more information please see this FAQ article
