The MITx MicroMasters program credential in Finance consists of six online courses—five Content Courses and one Comprehensive Final Exam—that must be completed to earn the MITx MicroMasters Program Credential in Finance. A list of the courses, in the recommended sequence and with a short description, follows below:

Foundations of Modern Finance I: This course provides an introduction to modern finance theory and covers topics such as risk and return, portfolio theory, asset pricing models, and the efficient market hypothesis.

Foundations of Modern Finance II: Building upon the concepts covered in the first course, this course delves deeper into topics like capital asset pricing model (CAPM), arbitrage pricing theory, and the concept of market efficiency.

Financial Accounting: This course focuses on the fundamentals of financial accounting and covers topics such as financial statements, revenue recognition, asset valuation, and financial statement analysis.

Mathematical Methods for Quantitative Finance: This course introduces mathematical techniques used in quantitative finance, including probability theory, statistics, optimization, and numerical methods.

Derivatives Markets: Advanced Modeling and Strategies: This course explores advanced topics in derivatives markets, including the pricing and valuation of options, futures, and other derivative securities. It also covers trading strategies and risk management techniques.
- Comprehensive Final Exam (CFx): The CFx is a final, capstone exam, testing on material taught over all five MMFin Content Courses. Only learners who have earned the Course Certificate for all five MMFin Content Courses are eligible to take the CFx.
To earn the MicroMasters program credential in Finance, learners must successfully complete each of these courses on the Verified (Paid) enrollment track, earning a passing score to receive the MicroMasters Verified Course Certificate for each course.
