All of the MITx MicroMasters courses are delivered online-only. The video content of the courses is pre-recorded, allowing for maximum flexibility in your schedule. This means you can access the course content and work on assignments at any time that is convenient for you. You are not required to log on at specific times to view the course content.
In addition to the pre-recorded video content, each course has in-course discussion forums where learners can engage in discussions and ask questions. The course teaching assistant (TA) team monitors these forums regularly to provide support and guidance to learners. Verified learners on the Paid track also have access to direct contact information for the course TA team.
MicroMasters courses have specific schedules designed by the course instruction teams. The course content is released on a schedule unique to each course, often weekly. Assignment deadlines are strict, and late submissions are not allowed. It's important to note that you cannot earn credit for assignments that you have missed.
Each course has a defined end date, after which the live aspects of the course, such as the discussion forums, will close. Course schedules are typically released during the first week of each course, providing you with the timeline for completing the course.
This asynchronous learning approach allows you to learn at your own pace and engage with the course materials and discussions at your convenience.
