I am an existing DEDP learner. How Do I Migrate from edX to the MITx Online platform? How Do I Link my MITx Online Account to my MicroMasters Portal Dashboard?

If you were a DEDP learner on edX and you wish to continue in the DEDP Program on MITx Online, you must have both an MITx Online account and a MicroMasters Portal Dashboard and they must be linked. Note: If you were never an DEDP learner on edX, you don't need to follow these steps. 

The DEDP MicroMasters program transitioned from the edX platform to the MITx Online platform in Fall 2021. If you are an existing DEDP learner, and you previously completed and/or submitted payment for one or more DEDP courses on the edX platform, you already have a MicroMasters Portal Dashboard—which you can access here. If you don't have a Portal Dashboard already, and are a new learner, please instead refer to this FAQ article.

You may follow these steps to link your existing MicroMasters Portal Account—and your existing DEDP program information—to an MITx Online account.

Please Note: It is important that you use the same email address as you used to create your MicroMasters Portal account when creating your new MITx Online account.

1. If you have not already created a new account on the MITx Online platform, create a new account by navigating to https://mitxonline.mit.edu/create-account/ and following the directions.
2. Once you finish creating your MITx Online account—or if you already had one—, link it to your MicroMasters Portal Dashboard by going to https://micromasters.mit.edu/signin/?program=2, clicking "Continue with MITx Online", and following the directions.

Enroll in DEDP courses

As a consequence of the transition from the edX to MITx Online platforms, the MITx Online Dashboard cannot show DEDP courses that you completed previously (on edX). You must re-enroll in the DEDP courses of your choice—re-enroll on the MITx Online site.

Please Note: We very strongly recommend that all existing DEDP learners re-enroll in any and all DEDP courses they have already taken previously, in order to regain access to previously archived courses. See "Archived Courses" section, below, for more details.

DEDP Payment Status

Because the DEDP MicroMasters program uses a special Personal Pricing and payment system, all DEDP program information, including Paid status, Proctored Exam attempts, Course Certificates and the Program Credential are stored on the MicroMasters Portal Dashboard only.

Your MITx Online Dashboard is not currently able to indicate the Paid status of your DEDP courses. This is identical to the situation on the previous platform, edX. Your DEDP courses on MITx Online will report that "You are enrolled in the audit track for this course. The audit track does not include a certificate" even if you have paid for the course—this is expected.

Archived Courses

Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly restore full access to DEDP courses that you previously had archived access to on the edX platform. When you enroll in a DEDP course on MITx Online, you will gain access to that course's content as it is released, and once the course session closes, you will retain archived access to the course content, as you did previously on edX.
