A Proctored Exam is a Timed Exam that also requires you to take the exam while being monitored by proctoring software. Proctored Exams require you to:
-
Install Proctoring Software
-
Verify Your Identity
-
Be Monitored During Your Exam Attempt
-
Comply with the Proctoring Rules
Before the Proctored Exam, you must complete an Onboarding Exam process, which will ensure your computer is properly set up for the exam, and verify your identity.
During the Proctired Exam, the proctoring software monitors your computer's desktop, webcam video, and audio during the exam, and the recorded data is transferred to a proctoring service for review.
Starting with Foundations of Modern Finance I in September 2023, most MMFin learners will take only one Proctored Exam—the Comprehensive Final Exam—which they will complete after they have earned the Course Certificates for all five MMFin Content Courses.
However, eligible learners—who had already completed part of the MMFin program when the Comprehensive Final was introduced—may opt to take a Proctored Exam at the end of eligible MMFin Content Courses during the Transition Period instead of completing the Comprehensive Final Exam. All such eligible learners should have received one or more notification emails from the MMFin team in August-September 2023. For more information, please refer to the Important Program Updates section of the MMFin Program Page, and/or refer to the Program Updates FAQ article.
More information, including specific details and procedures, rules, and a timeline for your Proctored Exam will be provided by your course team within the Proctored Exam courseware. It's important to carefully review the guidelines and requirements for your specific proctored exam, as they may vary between courses. The MMFin Program Team or the MicroMasters Support Team will provide you with all the necessary information on how to access and complete your proctored exam.
