What is allowed for Part 1—Exam 1: Probability and Exam 2: Statistics Theory?

During Part 1 of the SDS Capstone Exam, which includes Exam 1: Probability and Exam 2: Statistics Theory, you will be allowed to access the following resources:

1. Archived courseware for each of your SDS courses: You can access the course materials from your SDS courses that you have completed and earned a passing score. This includes accessing existing posts in the discussion forum. However, you will not be able to access any current runs of the courses.

2. Your first two cheatsheets: You are allowed to use and refer to your first two cheatsheets during Part 1 exams. These cheatsheets must be uploaded before the start of Part 1 exams during the preparation time for the Capstone Exam course.

3. PDF viewer app: You can use a PDF viewer application on your own computer to view course slides or other PDFs that you have downloaded from the course sites, as well as your uploaded cheatsheets.

4. Ten (10) blank pieces of paper: You will be provided with ten blank pieces of paper for rough work, calculations, or any additional notes you may need during the exams.

5. Basic calculator app: You can use a basic calculator application on your computer for calculations during the exams.

6. Computer's file manager: You are allowed to use your computer's file manager (such as Finder or Windows Explorer) to navigate and access files on your computer.

7. Online translators: You may use the following online translators, but you are not allowed to open any pre-saved files with these translators:

   • Fanyi Youdao: http://fanyi.youdao.com/
   • Bing Translator: https://www.bing.com/translator

8. Online calculators and computing apps: You are permitted to use several online calculators and computing apps, including Google calculator and Wolfram Alpha. These tools are provided for your convenience, although they may not be extensively needed during the exams. Remember, you cannot open any pre-saved files with these online tools or websites.
