How do I earn the Course Certificate for a DEDP MicroMasters course? What is the passing criteria? How is the final score calculated?

In order to pass a DEDP MicroMasters Course and earn a MicroMasters Course Certificate, a learner must do all of the following:

• Enroll in a session of the course
• Upgrade that course session to the Verified (Paid) track by submitting payment before the Payment Deadline
• Complete coursework and the Comprehensive Review (or import a cumulative Coursework Score from a previous course session)
• Sit for the course’s Proctored Exam (or import a Proctored Exam Score from a previous course session)
• Earn a  Total Course Grade of at least 50%

For each DEDP MicroMasters course session, scores are calculated as follows:

• The Coursework Score comprises the score earned for the coursework (including assignments and finger exercises) and the Comprehensive Review
• The Proctored Exam Score comprises solely the score earned for the Proctored Exam
• The Total Course Grade is a weighted average of both the Coursework Score and the Proctored Exam Score
  • The Coursework Score is worth 30% of the Total Course Grade
  • The Proctored Exam Score is worth 70% of the Total Course Grade
• The passing score threshold is a Total Course Grade of 50% or higher
