Learners are welcome to submit payment for an upcoming session of a DEDP Course before the start date of the course. It is not necessary to wait until a course session starts to submit payment.
However, please note that changes to the DEDP MicroMasters Program in September 2022 have altered the time at which verified (paid) learners should take the Proctored Exam.
Important Changes to the DEDP Program:
Previously, learners could submit payment for a DEDP course and choose to sit for the Proctored Exam at the end of a future term, but this is no longer possible.
Payments for DEDP courses are now tied to a specific course session. This means that any payment made for a DEDP course—submitted prior to the term's Payment deadline—applies only to that specific session of the course. If a payment is submitted after the term's Payment deadline, the payment will be applied to the term in which the course is next offered.
From September 2022 and going forward, submitting payment for a DEDP course allows a learner to be eligible to take the Proctored Exam at the end of that term only. A learner cannot pay for a course and wait to take the Proctored Exam in a future term (exceptions for extenuating circumstances can be made).
